The driver who hit a child in Zaandam probably did not have a driver’s license

The driver of the car that hit a child this afternoon at a crossing on Wibautstraat in Zaandam probably did not have a driver’s license.

The police arrested the driver after the accident because he was ‘probably driving around without a driver’s license’, a police spokesperson told NH.

“The man will be interrogated and may explain a few things,” said the spokesperson. “Investigation will reveal exactly what happened.” Photos show, among other things, that the right wing mirror of the car is damaged.

The collision occurred earlier tonight. A police spokesperson then told NH that the child was injured and taken to hospital. “It is not known whether the child was walking or on a bicycle.”
