On Sunday, February 6, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz car drove onto the tram tracks on Simferopolsky Boulevard in Moscow and got stuck.
“The driver looked drunk and refused a medical examination on the spot,” the Metropolitan Department of Transport said.
Two tram routes were blocked for more than an hour. “The Moscow Metro will impose a fine of almost 1 million rubles for a large delay in traffic,” the Department of Transport said. After checking, it turned out that during the year the driver managed to get 34 fines for traffic violations.
At the end of January 2022, Moscow and St. Petersburg lost leadership among the most emergency cities, despite the fact that car accident more happens in the capitals, but relative to the number of cars in the fleet, the percentage of broken cars is low.
According to insurance companies, in Moscow the loss rate (the number of OSAGO claims divided by the number of policies) was 7.2%, while in St. Petersburg it was 7.3%. Experts called Kazan the most emergency city with a record frequency of losses in 2021 – 13.3%. On the second line of the rating is Chelyabinsk, where the frequency of losses is 12.4%, the third place belongs to Yekaterinburg with an indicator of 10.1%.
