After the home European Championship in the summer, the DFB team continues in the Nations League. A duel with a lot of history awaits you there.
The group of the German national team for the 2024/25 season in the Nations League has been determined. Captain İlkay Gündoğan’s team will face the Netherlands, Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the A-League. This was the result of the draw on Thursday evening at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris.
Germany continues to play in the top league A, but was only in the third draw pot and therefore faced top-class opponents. The feared hammer group didn’t materialize, but the DFB team is expecting a truly traditional duel with the game against the Netherlands.
National coach personnel still open
The matches begin in September after the home European Championship (June 14th to July 14th), which from a German perspective is outstanding, and the remaining match days are scheduled for October and November. The newly created quarter-finals of the A-League will take place in March 2025, the Final Four tournament will be played in June next year. England was relegated from the A league as bottom of the group behind Italy, Hungary and Germany.
It is currently unclear who will compete in the tournament with the DFB team and who will be on the sidelines. National coach Julian Nagelsmann’s contract expires after the home European Championships in the summer.
On Thursday, 54 of the 55 UEFA member associations were in the draw: Russia is still excluded because of the war of aggression against Ukraine.
