The former swimming pool dates from the early 1970s and has been closed for a long time. Preparations for dismantling and asbestos removal start today. The actual demolition will not begin for another two weeks. The yard itself has now been closed and there will also be camera surveillance.
At the end of February, the city of Ostend wants to sow the zone to turn it into an open space. The works cost around 200,000 euros.
