“I’m happy! This was a celebration for people to live in art. Accompanied by numerous neatly costumed performance artists, the platinum-plated plastic artist celebrated in malba with a prominent display. Dressed in pink and with her emblematic glasses, Minujín arrived at the museum getting off a bus and accompanied by a masked entourage. Some of those present confessed that her birthday celebration was worthy of her most daring performative works.
The curious audience crowded at the museum entrance to receive Minujín who, as soon as he entered, began to dance, in the entrance hall, the classic Johann Strauss waltz, the “Blue Danube”. Several visitors were part of the invitation, such as his son Facundo Gomez Minujinpresent during the celebration.
The masks and painted faces were in homage to Pablo Picassofor the 50th anniversary of his death, the same reasons he used for his famous “Kidnappening”, a presentation she made in New York in 1973. After the dance, the recipient greeted the guests, taking photos and selfies. After walking around the room, it was time to cut the black cake, with ribbons of the same color.

Among the guests were artists such as Luis Felipe Noé, Guillermo Kuitca, Graciela Hapser, Adriana Rosenberg, Mariana Marchesi, Alicia Herrero and Delia Cancela, among others. The closing came when Minujín launched her bouquet of black flowers to the public, which was followed by the launch of the tulle for the head. “Bye”, the plastic artist said goodbye to the friends who continued to photograph the platinum-plated celebrity.
