In the afternoon the wheel went to the Danish Nicklas Nielsen. “After so many months spent in the simulator I was finally able to drive the real car – commented Pier Guidi – and it was an important emotion. Driving the Ferrari that will return to the premier endurance class 50 years after the last time with official cars gave me strong emotions. We are only at the beginning and there is a lot of work ahead of us but the feelings are very positive. I am proud and happy to have brought the LMH to its debut, which marks the beginning of a new adventure for Ferrari ”. Nielsen was also excited: “It was a special day… Being among the first to bring Ferrari’s Hypercar to the track is a dream come true. Since I was a child I have dreamed of driving a Ferrari, and doing it with the car that will be at the start of the premier class is incredible. Of course, there is still a long way to go before the race debut, but today we took a small step towards that moment ”. During the day, Ferrari’s engineers concentrated on checking the various propulsion and electronic systems in view of the development test sessions, alternating phases on the track with long pauses necessary for routine checks.
