The singer’s spouse, Tuomas Tahvanainenopen now In an interview with Karjalainenwhat happened in May 2018.
Tahvanainen says in the interview that the family was waiting for summer vacation at the time. He had graduated as a community pedagogue and the intention was to celebrate it in a big way. However, the opposite happened.
Marja Tahvanainen had gone to sleep, but she didn’t wake up in the morning.
– No preconceptions or warnings. A completely healthy person, Tuomas recalls to Karjalainen.
The cause of death was eventually revealed to be a cerebral hemorrhage.
– There has been a weak point in the blood vessel that has not been able to withstand the increase in pressure, Tahvanainen tells Karjalainen.
The Stella band was founded in 2002. Many people remember the band’s hit songs Dot, Wedding Waltz and High heels. The band’s journey came to an end in 2013. By that time, they had released five albums.
After music, Marja worked as an English and Swedish teacher.
– I don’t think I can make a living with music from now on. I have graduated as a teacher with the Stella project and I think I will continue working there, Marja told Voice in an interview in 2013.
Marja told MTV Uutis that she was looking forward to a new phase in her life.
– It’s great that you can actually be free on weekends. I hope I will also be able to meet more of my friends and relatives. It bothers me that a friend’s wedding has been missed because of concerts.
Manager-producer Hannu Sormunen commented to Iltalehte in 2019 that the authenticity of the Stella band appealed to the audience.
– Stella left her mark on the Finnish pop/rock scene, even though there wasn’t a very big commercial breakthrough. They had their own sound, which was very much based on Marja’s voice. Now that type of band doesn’t exist, Sormunen describes.
