The day that Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazú described the Puccio Clan as a “satanic family”

At the age of 87, the outstanding journalist passed away Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazu. In his history, he has received outstanding recognition for his work, the last of which was in March, when the “International Women’s Dayr” was recognized as one of the “teachers of Argentine journalism” by the group Periodistas Argentinas. He wrote many times for NEWSbut one of the most remembered columns is the one in which he referred Puccio Clan like an “f”satanic family“And in which he expressed himself about the double life that appears behind what is politically correct and the parallelism with many other situations that are repeated in today’s Argentina.

The full text of Magdalena Ruiz Guiñazú published in August 2015:

“Perhaps, through this history, we have become aware of the presence of evil not as a form of religious or philosophical interpretation, but as part of everyday reality.

The painting could not be more impressive (because it is part of the history lived by millions of Argentines) and also because it is located between the small circumstances of each day: a man who sweeps the sidewalk, the teacher who punctually attends her classes, the neighbors who follow their path while a few Manoukian meters shudders with terror and suffering chained to the shower of the bathroom of the Puccio; Mrs Bollini de Prado desperately shouts from inside a cell that is more than just a wardrobe and a whole family prays before dinner while their children successfully practice a great sport… Anyway, why go on listing what we already know?

We had just come out of the dictatorship but democracy had not been able to dismantle a force called Triple A or Intelligence Services of the State, was still in force as if to inhabit a universe of terror while many spoke bravely in defense of human rights.

Today the young people who attend to see this great film may wonder about such an inconsistency. However (and we return to the presence of darkness), evil always exists in the world and its intelligent perversity (which yesterday had dominated that family a few steps from a cathedral) today allows us to wonder how and why it is assassinate a prosecutor of the Republic.”
