The organization of ‘Days after the Tour’ already dares to say: this year the cycling event in Boxmeer will take place. The last two editions were canceled due to corona. Round president Pierre Hermans states that everyone is really looking forward to it. “We are now done with the virus.”
Traditionally, it is the Monday after the end of the Tour de France party in Boxmeer. This was not possible due to two corona years. But this year all signals are green: “It is great to see that in the two years without the round, everyone has continued to believe in it”, says chairman Pierre Hermans.
Mike Teunissen won in 2019. Wout Poels finished in second place. Steven Kruiswijk from Nuenen was third. More than 40,000 people came to watch the event.
The women’s top will also return to Days after the Tour. In 2019 Marianne Vos was the last winner of the cycling round. In addition to all the cyclists, there will also be inline skates for the first time since 2015.
The technical committee of Days after the Tour kept all the equipment in good order during the corona years. They also saw that almost all sponsors remained faithful to the cycling round: “We were even able to extend the line. That is why all cycling enthusiasts have something to look forward to. We are just really looking forward to it.”
