The media has warned of the new tactics used by thieves to steal vehicles

The authorities report these days the ‘bottle trick’ that is easy and dangerous for the driver

Both media and authorities have echoed the new tactic used by common thieves to steal vehicles and passenger cars. The tactic, commonly known as the ‘bottle trick’, basically consists of choosing a victim who is refueling at any gas station.

While the driver is refueling and enters the premises to pay, criminals catch a bottle and they are embedded in the front wheel, in the passenger side. Because here? Well, because that way the driver will not see it once it is mounted again.

The bottle fits between the fender and the wheel. The fact that it is there does not cause any damage to the car, however, when the driver starts moving, the friction will produce an uncomfortable noise that will make us stop and see what happens.

Usually we will go down without turning off the vehicle and, therefore, leaving the keys on. This is the moment when in the blink of an eye the thieves will take over the vehicle without us having to react.

The tactic is simple but dangerous for the driver, as it can be run over by thieves. The authorities recommend that if there is any noise that we believe is external, we stop the car and leave with the keys in our hands, not leaving them in the ignition.
