«When Diana speaks, the world listens». Prime Minister Tony Blair (Bertie Carvel) tries to convince Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton) that the princess loved by the people and “opposed” by the royal family is still capable of dispensing precious charisma.

The sixth and final season of The Crownthe saga about the British Crown created by Peter Morgan, revolves once again around the figure of Diana (Elizabeth Debicki); it opens with the scene of the accident in Paris, and then goes back to the last few weeks.

In going through the life of the royal family, the series embodies the biography of a nation, its wounds and contradictions filtered through the lenses of the most loved, known and discussed monarchy in the world.

In this last act (which will be released in two parts, four episodes plus two more in mid-December, contravening the rules of streaming to marry those of prolonged waiting and promotion), a leading role is assigned to Blair, the prime minister who embodied the season of New Labor and the swinging nineties. The most recent pieces will be missing, but The Crown remains a fundamental operation for rereading the history of power.

For those who love costume sagas where public and private mix.
