The Council of State gives permission for the Rammstein fireworks show

The fireworks show during the Rammstein concerts in the Stadspark in Groningen can continue as usual. This has been decided by the Council of State. Stichting Natuurbeschermingswacht from Meppel wanted the permit for the fireworks to be withdrawn because of the noise standards for people and birds.

The objections have been rejected by the Council of State, ‘because the impact is not such that the fireworks show should be banned’, writes RTV North,

The permit was issued by the province of Groningen. The concerts are next Thursday and Friday.

This afternoon, three cases will be heard in the court of Groningen about exceeding the noise standards. They have also been initiated by the Stichting Natuurbeschermingswacht. The municipality of Groningen has granted an exemption for the concerts, allowing Rammstein to produce 103 decibels of sound. This waiver is being challenged in court.
