Cosplayers are just as much a part of Gamescom as the video games themselves. This year there were again many breathtaking costumes to see!
Although the Cosplay Area at Gamescom 2023 is almost hidden behind the merchandise area, the influx is enormous. No wonder! Because that’s where the cosplayers cavort again this year in their unusual and detailed costumes. A visit will be worth it in any case! TECHBOOK was also there and was able to get a first-hand impression.
After Gamescom 2023 opened with the Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 22nd, on the following Wednesday, which is actually declared a press day, you could already see some costumed people on the exhibition grounds. But the final starting signal for the Cosplay Area was given on Thursday, when the fair was also opened to visitors.
Since then, the creative costumes have been seen throughout and around the site. And in the center of Cologne, no one should have missed the fact that Gamescom is now on, because you can meet a lot of cosplayers there too.
Not only video games, but also characters from films and series are represented among the cosplayers, and a few are also completely self-designed. Some of the disguised trade fair visitors invest weeks of work in the design of their elaborate outfits – only to groan and sweat under the weight. Nevertheless, we think that the effort is worth it, because there were really cool cosplays again this year.
Cosplayers turn Gamescom into a gaming fair
“Each year I am amazed by the outfits that cosplayers come up with at Gamescom. I really get that gaming feeling when suddenly Master Chief and Boba Fett are standing in front of me in the entertainment area.
