A fire broke out in a company warehouse on the Hoppenkuil in Eindhoven on Monday afternoon, presumably while making drugs. “That way you get to experience something at work”, an employee of the adjacent business premises joked about it. He stands behind the tape and watches until the fire brigade has finished extinguishing.
At the company that makes patio tiles and is located next to the drug lab, no one has seen a fugitive drug lord escape. Employees did hear a loud bang. “It was an explosion that hit our wall. We then called the police.” The employees quickly realized that it was a fire. But they say they don’t know details.
Many different companies are located in the building where the fire started. As a result, the neighbors never noticed what was happening next to them. They don’t know each other.
“I hope that everything is still standing with us, but have to wait here,” says the employee. “It is impressive to see, with all those firefighters. You don’t see that every day.” He especially hopes that everything in his own building is still standing, without damage from the fire or blow. “And I still have to close things down,” he says.
