Functionality and adaptability are clearly reflected in the colors of New York Fashion Week. According to the trend report for the fall/winter season 2024/2025 from the US color institute Pantone, natural, yet energetic tones support people’s hybrid lifestyle.
In New York, designers use a rich and earthy color palette that highlights tones derived from natural pigments, gives space to medium and neutral shades and has a mix of elegance and practicality. The conveyed timelessness slows down trend cycles and leads to more conscious consumption.
“The NYFW Fall/Winter 2024/2025 colors strive for a balance between the familiar and the new and exciting, representing longevity and seasonless style,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Functional and adaptable, reliable and robust, they serve our increasingly hybrid lifestyles by providing a strong chromatic foundation while adding playful and energetic accents for magical moments.”
Colors with reliability and energy at New York Fashion Week
Rich, cheerful colors form an ensemble of nuances that usher in autumn and winter, which are based on the tones that nature presents at the end of the year. Another classic, neutral palette that can be used timelessly and extensively completes the colorful experience. Pantone has identified 15 colors that will dominate the collections of the coming fall/winter season.
