The Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona achieves its first ‘castell’ of 9 of the year

The Xiquets de Valls Youth Group and the Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona came to Torredembarra wanting to move forward. The people of Tarragona had not yet been able to download any 9 ‘castell’ this year, they had made a dismounted attempt in the performance of 4d9f in Sant Joan de Tarragona, and the people of Vallen wanted to continue walking the 3d9f.

La Jove de Tarragona gave a coup of authority and a giant step, against all odds downloading the 3d9f, since the first one they had tried was the 4d9f. And the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls increased the number of 3d9f downloadeddoing so for the fifth time this year.

The castellera performance was slow. In almost two hours only two rounds had been carried out. The Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona faced one of their great challenges in the first round, unloading a solid 3d9f, while the Joves de Valls a 5d8 postcard. In the second round they executed the 2d8f and Joves a 3d9f that they worked on when downloading it.

The hosts, the Nois de la Torrethey began the third round with a dismounted attempt of 4d7. The Youth of Valls I parked the 4d9f, since shirts were missing to be able to try it, but I was betting on a premiere, the 4d8a. It is the first of this year. On the first attempt they ended up dismounted because they couldn’t see it clearly. But then they threw it upstairs. And they unloaded a 4d8a, one more step for Joves. The Nois returned with the 4d7 that went up slowly, but they downloaded it relatively calmly. He closed the ’round of human towers’ the Jove de Tarragona, with the first 5d8, one of the flagship ‘castells’ of the group. Two good premieres to face the performance of Vilanova i la Geltrú. For their part, Joves de Valls also made an important debut, gaining confidence and thinking about the future.

The group leader Young from Tarragona, Adria Calvethe was very satisfied with the performance. He assured that the decision to try the 3d9f, instead of the 4d9f, had been taken some time and he justified it by commenting that “at the beginning of the season the ‘quatre’ generated more travel, but in the last month they had seen how the ‘three’ matured internally& rdquor; . Laughing, he assured that during the week it had been said that they would bet on 4d9f, but they were clear about it.

For his part, the group leader of the Youth of Valls, edu allcommented that the weekend premieres were “very important”. He said that they would have liked to have more shirts to test the 4d9f, and he did not rule it out for the Vilanova i la Geltrú event. However, he explained that the work was done thinking about the future and looking at the 5d9f and 3d10fm.

A 4d9f that is waiting

The 4d9f is a ‘castell’ that this year is costing all the ‘colles’, in general. While in other ‘castells’, such as 3d9f, the percentage of effectiveness exceeds 80%, in 4d9f it does not reach 60%. Total, 12 have been attempted. Of these, seven have been downloaded: three the Colla Vella Xiquets de Valls, three the Castellers de Vilafranca, and one the Minyons de Terrassa. One has been uploaded, also by the Minyons. Three have remained in dismounted attempts: two from the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls and one from the Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona. And another has been attempted by the Xiquets de Reus. Therefore, it is a ‘castell’ that is costing.

We must make a special mention, and we cannot ignore, the great performance by the Nois de la Torre. That despite making two dismounted attempts, they managed to download the first 4d7a of the season, also the first 3d7a of the year, and the 4d7. The group leader, Lluís Batet, explained that at the beginning of the season they did not imagine being able to do a performance like this in July, and that now other ‘castells’ worked like 5d7which they hope to be able to bring to the market.

The day lasted more than three hours, because it started 20 minutes late. Which caused it to end after half past nine, but the public continued in its place, without leaving.
