The coaching bang at Real Madrid is apparently perfect

180 degree turn perfect? Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti are now said to have agreed to work together beyond the coming summer.

Before Christmas, the extension of the expiring contract was finalized in negotiations between the Royals and the successful Italian coach, reports “Relevo”. Only the official confirmation of the personnel is still pending.

However, this could happen soon. According to reports, Real no longer wants to be distracted by the open coaching question in the crucial phase of the season in the spring.

Ancelotti’s move to the position of Brazil national coach, which seemed to have been decided for months, is finally off the table, the report continues. Ancelotti never made a promise to the South Americans anyway.

Real are said to have had a clear plan regarding the 64-year-old’s future since last summer. Accordingly, the extension with Ancelotti was linked to the sporting results of the first weeks and months of the new season.

Since Real marched through their Champions League group with six wins in as many games and also leads the table in La Liga, the Italian had numerous arguments for staying on his side.

Xabi Alonso’s move to Real Madrid off the table

If the report is confirmed, it is clear that there will be no place available for Bayer Leverkusen’s coach Xabi Alonso on the Spanish record champions’ coaching bench for the time being.

The 42-year-old was considered the most promising candidate to succeed Ancelotti. A gentleman’s agreement with the Werkself club management would supposedly allow him to move to an absolutely top club next summer despite his current contract.

The coaching question in Brazil also remains open for the time being. Pep Guardiola from Manchester City is said to be one option to inherit interim coach Fernando Diniz after the current season.
