Presented by Ellen DeGeneres, 64, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is coming to an end. The presenter announced the decision to end the program as early as last year, but now is the date on which the last episode will be presented.

After nearly two decades and 19 production seasons, the final episode will be shown in the United States on May 26th. Over the years, more than 4,000 interviewees have visited DeGeneres as a guest, and the program has also made various donations worth nearly half a billion dollars.

The final episode features a table setting for special guests, including Michelle Obama, Channing Tatum, Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian.

– Special guests will respect the pioneering program and share their favorite memories from different production seasons, the program’s press release states.

DeGeneres commented on the closure decision to The Hollywood Reporter last year.

– As a creative person, you have to be constantly challenged – even though it’s a good and fun program, it’s no longer challenging enough for me, he commented at the time.

Throughout the long history of the program, guests at DeGeneres have visited people ranging from superstars to smaller public figures. For example Sara Forsberg visited the program in 2014, when he popped up for an Internet sensation with his language video.

The program has been in the throes of scandals in recent years. Degeneres’ program and the presenter himself have been accused of, among other things, workplace bullying. DeGeneres drunk driving has also spoken to viewers of the program.
