the Close Friends function, from Instagram but for tweets

Twitter yesterday introduced a mode called Twitter Circle. As its name suggests, this is a mode allowing you to configure your “closed circle” in order to limit the visibility of certain messages. A very similar operation to that offered by Instagram with Close Friends.

Basically, who has never written a tweet a little angry, or would have liked to exclaim on the victory of his favorite team, but changed his mind, because it would denote with the usual, or the political correctness? Twitter Circle would release this word, by offering the possibility of selecting up to 150 other profiles to put them in a circle. Only these people will then be able to see and interact with the published message.

Are Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey on the same wavelength for the future of Twitter?

When posting their tweet, users will only have to change the audience they want to share it with.

This feature is currently available for a handful of accounts only, in order to conduct a test phase. If it is successful, Twitter may well expand it and motivate the undecided private account, or those who stifle the language of their emotions. However, this will not protect them from screenshots, like the late Twitter account “Fallait Pas Delete ?” which took pleasure in saving and reposting deleted messages from politicians, personalities, or professionals.

The Twitter Circle feature is accessible from iOS, Android, and the web. The social network soon to be acquired by Elon Musk did not say more.
