The Armand Duplantis ME hunt continued unsuccessfully on Friday evening in the Brussels Diamond League.
Armand Duplantis the outdoor track ME race in the men’s pole vault did not reach its climax on Friday evening in the Brussels Diamond League.
The 23-year-old Swede won the competition with a score of 610, but the ME height of 623 centimeters remained unconquered.
The men’s pole vault, which started already at 20:15 Finnish time, came to a halt at the end, when Duplantis had to wait an unreasonably long time for his ME height performances. In particular, the time between the first and second attempt was ten minutes. The Swede’s last attempt from the height of 623 was very close to succeeding.
The pole vault competition ended at 23:07 Finnish time.
In February, at the indoor competition in Clermont-Ferrand, Duplantis made the ME of indoor tracks 622 cents.
In the 2023 outdoor track season, the best result so far is 612 cents from the Ostrava competition in June. The ME of Duplantis outdoor tracks is 621 cm from the 2022 World Championships in Eugene.
Duplantis has won 15/16 of his competitions this season. The statistics take into account the averages of indoor and outdoor tracks. So far, the only loss came in July at the Monaco Diamond League, when he was fourth with a score of 572. The U.S. Chris Nielsen won the competition with a score of 592.
On Friday, the USA finished second in Belgium Sam Kendricks (592) and thirdly the Philippines John Obiena (592).
