15-year-old Heta woke up late in the middle of last year to the fact that his forehead was sore. Migraine attack, the girl suspected, and decided to go tell her father about it. However, he did not get that far.
Alive 24h series in tonight’s episode TV1 tells how Heta got up almost immediately trying to get up.
– I woke up to it when Heta tried to get out of bed over the stairs. He just fell on his back and had his eyes open. At that point, I, too, lost consciousness, Heta’s big sister, 23 years old Lily recalls a frightening moment for the lead doctor Teemu to Taulavuori.

It was a serious carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide quickly causes a lack of oxygen and unconsciousness.
Upon receiving the poisoning, the family was in a wilderness cottage in Enontekiö. Luckily Pauli-father realized the situation and was able to maintain his ability to function with some lynx. He had time to open the windows and doors before it was too late.
– It’s cold. It saved the lives of you all, Teemu gets to say.
According to doctor Teemu Taulavuori, the happiness in the accident is that everyone has survived with mere fright. ITV
As a doctor, he knows how close the situation has been. It also makes Teemu himself ponder the questions of life and death.
– The carbon monoxide poisoning situation makes you think deeply. How small a young person’s – or anyone’s – life can be. It can be very small.
Although Teemu understands the matter, he suspects that it will only hit the sisters consciously with a delay.
– Only after a few days can the girls really realize that they could have died, Teemu says to their father.
Paul’s father guessed why they were all in such a bad state and worked promptly to save their children. ITV
While talking to Paul, Teemu wants to know how his father has been able to save his child from near-certain death when he himself has had symptoms of poisoning.
– The girls were with me. I thought I, if anyone, needed to be able to handle it. I will do my best.
After losing consciousness, Heta awoke from the downstairs couch of the wilderness cottage. – Dad said we all have carbon monoxide poisoning, he says in Elossa 24h. ITV
