The championship for the best roast arrives at the obelisk

He Federal Roast Championship arrives at the obelisk on the holiday of Monday, June 19. In the gastronomic event that will take place on Avenida 9 de Julio, between Avenida Corrientes and Avenida de Mayo, the 23 provinces of the national territory and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires will be competing, in search of the best barbecue or barbecue in the country.

In addition, in the fifth edition of the meeting, there will be 60 stalls with different grills, national holidays and communities, and a stage with cultural proposals throughout the day. “The Federal Grill Championship, in addition to being a competition between the best grills and grills, is the possibility of showing the cultural and economic value that gastronomy has throughout Argentina,” he said. Jose Luis Giusti, Minister of Economic Development and Production.

To obtain the highest prize, 23 professional representatives of gastronomy from each of the provinces and one representative from the City will participate in the championship. The 24 contestants were selected by the UTHGRA CABA (Union of Tourism, Hotel and Gastronomic Workers of the Argentine Republic) through an open call for BA Citizen Participation.

The day begins with the classification stage, with the 24 participants divided into three groups of 8, and each group cooking separately in a batch. Thus, during the period of one hour, each contestant must cook 3 cuts of meat; pork bondiola, kidney and a regional dish with the cut chosen by each provincein addition to vegetables that can be presented as an accompaniment to the previous cuts or as a fourth dish.

At the same time, each contestant will participate in the “Milkaut challenge”which will consist of cooking a provoleta to present 15 minutes after the start of the challenge. An institutional and technical jury will be in charge of evaluating the dishes and selecting the best two of each group for the next round.

In the final stage, the contestants from the 6 winning provinces of the previous instance will cook again for an hour another 3 cuts of meat; strip of roast, chorizo ​​and black pudding, and empty, in addition to the vegetables that can be presented as an accompaniment to the previous cuts or as a fourth dish. Among these participants, the best barbecue or barbecue in the country will come out.

The evaluation jury of the Federal Grill Championship will be made up of Natalí Suárez Pardo (winner of the 2022 edition), Natalia Barrionuevo (Meat Sommelier), Javier Brichetto (Piantao – Madrid), Sandra Honczar (Asadoras Argentinas), Héctor Martínez (Representative of the Argentine Federation of Grills), Guido Moze (La Parra de Dios), Christian Petersen (juror for El Gourmet), Patricia Ramos (Our Secret), Germán Sitz (Chori and La Carnicería), Mirta Occhiuzzo (UTHGRA Representative), Gustavo Valsangiácomo (IPCVA), Guido Moze (La Parra de Dios), Iván Ordóñez (Columnist LN Campo), José Luis Fuoco (Sagardi) and a duo of Córdoba residents, winners of the federal Citizen Participation contest.

For their part, the residents who come to the event will be able to find gastronomic proposals from different grills in the City, the province of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Río Negro, as well as from the German, Bulgarian, Colombian, Cuban, Danish, Japanese, Jewish, Lebanese, Peruvian and Venezuelan. In addition to the classic cuts of meat, there will be vegetarian, sweet and celiac options. Each one of the grills will have a $800 menu and two other proposals at the booth’s choice.

In turn, during this edition, the people who attend the event will have the possibility to vote for the best grill of the Federal Grill Championship, for which they must go to the stalls and distributed tables, scan a QR code and choose the one that consider the best grill. The other novelty of the event is that there will be a Warehouse “MAPPA”where attendees can find the best food products produced by our country.
