The funeral of Shane MacGowan, singer of the punk band The Pogues, will take place on Friday, November 8.

The singer of the band The Pogues by Shane MacGowan the cause of death is known. The frontman of the punk band died at the age of 65 in the early hours of November 30.
The cause of death is confirmed by MacGowan’s wife Victoria Mary Clarke, who had also announced the news of the star’s death on his Instagram account. According to Clarke, her husband died of complications from pneumonia.
Rolling Stone – magazine, MacGowan’s funeral will take place on Friday, December 8, in Ireland at St. Mary of the Rosary Church. The memorial service is open to everyone. There are currently plans for a funeral cortege for the musician, which would travel from the town of Nenagh to Dublin. It is a distance of about 162 kilometers.
Among others, the president of Ireland is expected to arrive there Michael Higginslead singer of the band U2 Bono and the surviving members of The Pogues. After the blessing ceremony, MacGowan’s body will be taken to be cremated. Bono is said to have been one of the people who visited MacGowan in the months leading up to his death.
MacGowan is said to have been in the hospital in November due to a brain infection. Clarke had said that her husband got out of the hospital about a week before the singer’s death. The musician’s representative confirmed with the news of his death that the artist died peacefully with his wife and sister by his side.
MacGowan served as the frontman of the band The Pogues during its entire existence, i.e. in the years 1982-2014. The band’s most famous songs include, among others Fairytale of New York -, Dirty Old Town – and The Irish Rover.
