The catastrophic bronze medal loss was not the young lion star’s worst disappointment

The biggest disappointment for Aleksanteri Kaskimäe was surprisingly not the miraculous loss to the Czech Republic in the bronze medal game.

According to Aleksanteri Kaskimäki, life goes on even after the World Cup bronze medal loss. Finland played seven games in the Games, two of which were weak. PDO

Finland won the WC bronze medal game in two sets. Then the Czech Republic put a big notch in the eye, scored no less than five goals in the final set and won by a large margin 8–5.

Aleksanteri Kaskimäki did not try to explain the events of the special game.

– Bad game, so we put everything we could find into it. Pretty much everything happened in the game. Pokka was not enough for us to win today.

Special

The Czech game described the Finnish tournament as it were. Both had great performances, meltdowns and a little bit of everything in between.

During the entire games, or during the game against the Czech Republic, it was difficult to predict what was coming from Finland. Consistency was lacking.

Kaskimäki admitted that the World Cup bronze medal will be among the most special in his career.

– Definitely one of them. These are pretty much stuck between the ears. It would have been great to end the youth national team career with a medal. Not today.

A flip trick

The positive thing about the Finnish tournament was that the team was able to turn its course after two weak games.

– The beginning of the tournament was challenging for us, Canada and Germany came to the fore. Then we got the team together and talked a little.

– It was tough, there was a lot of criticism. Either way, the team was put together nicely and we were fighting for the world championship in the semi-finals.

– I’m proud of the whole gang, proud to be part of this, the HIFK player who scored 2+2 power points in Gothenburg, ynänsi.

Unsurprisingly, the biggest disappointment for Kaskimäki was not the ugly loss in the bronze medal game that received a lot of attention.

– Especially the semi-final, it was the biggest disappointment here. This whole thing really saddens me a lot. But it’s okay, life goes on from here and we hope that there will be new opportunities.
