The re-filming that came out in 2022 will have its television premiere today Agatha Christie from the classic Death on the Nile.
The central role of Simon Doyle is played in the film Armie Hammer.
Until 2021, Hammer’s career was on a strong rise. Then several women came forward and accused Hammer of emotional abuse, sexual harassment and rape.
The women said that Hammer also sent them messages related to cannibalism.
With the uproar, Hammer’s reputation collapsed and he lost his place in many productions.

Alternatives were considered
The film was originally supposed to be released in 2020, but the release had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic.
However, the film had already been ready in the package a year before the accusations became public.
by The Hollywood Reporter according to Disney still considered removing Hammer from the production. The production company considered, among other things, reshoots with a different actor or digital post-editing. However, these options turned out to be too challenging to implement.

In the end, the film was released as planned. Hammer is involved not only in the film itself, but also in the advertising posters and the trailer. Disney didn’t go out of their way to hide his involvement.
