The camp teams WKE ’16 and PKC ’83 make it a breathtaking spectacle in Emmen

The charged battle with mutual respect was decided 3-2 in favor of the camp team from Groningen after a particularly exciting first half in Emmen at the ‘Grote Geert’ sports park. Despite a fierce battle, what was particularly striking in and around the field was the intensely friendly atmosphere.

Of course, public interest was a bit disappointing. In advance they expected at least more than 1000 visitors. They didn’t come close, but the real supporters certainly did not want to miss this appealing match. Three buses full of PKC supporters stood loudly cheering on their heroes along the line.

The WKE supporters were of course also present. However, the real fireworks were virtually absent in the relaxed atmosphere. Only just before the start, an orange cloud (the colors of WKE ’16) was visible in the left corner under the tones of the Dutch song, of course.

Friendly atmosphere

There was also a friendly atmosphere in the boardroom before and during halftime. Chairman Jannes Wolters of the Emmen residents noted with a smiling face that both teams made it a great spectacle. “It’s a shame we lost 3-2,” the tall president looked back on the game after the second half. “We could have won, but

Unfortunately, our strikers were unable to produce the equalizer after being 3-2 behind.’

Furthermore, the supporters of both camps kept a pretty low profile. There was a real friendly and widely respected feeling among the supporters. An unpleasant comment in the second half from a supporter of WKE ’16 was just a dissonance in the whole. Player Musteba Albadawi of PKC ’83 was injured, after which ‘the supporter’ shouted: Hey buddy sewer, go back to Morocco.”

Afterwards there was even more fraternization. A party evening with live music was organized in the canteen of WKE ’16, where a large number of supporters of PKC ’83 were also present. “Besides the 3-2 victory, it will certainly be a fun evening for our supporters,” said coach Bert Vos of PKC ’83 afterwards. “No, I’m not staying, I’m going home as soon as possible.”

Goals like ripe apples

The real spectacle before and during the confrontation was therefore omitted along the field. “Then we have to create a great atmosphere,” the players apparently thought. In the first half hour the goals immediately fell like ripe apples from the tree: 2-3.

The Groningen team of trainer Bert Vos was lower than the Emmer team of trainer Albert Koops for the mutual match. After the 3-2 for PKC ’83, Koops gritted his teeth and noticed that his team had been passed in the rankings by this team of all people.

opponent. “But you will definitely win a lot,” Vos complimented his colleague Koops. “Julie has a very nice team.”

Plenty of sensation

There was plenty of sensation in the first half hour. One goal after another was scored. WKE ’16 started dramatically. Major mistakes were made defensively. Simon Schreiber and Nick Berends gratefully benefited from it twice: 0-2. However, the resilience of WKE ’16 was admirable. Brian Haak restored hope to the hearts of WKE ’16 with his goal (1-2), but moments later the difference was again two goals thanks to a beautiful header from Rob Schokker: 1-3.

Djaira Fik immediately headed a 2-3 goal against the nylon. Then the cake was gone. Thanks to an incomparable goalkeeper Jos Broekman and twice the aluminum, PKC ’83 stayed on its feet after the break.
