The buses on the H12 line will be electric and their frequency will be increased

Barcelona Metropolitan Transport (TMB) will increase the performance of the bus line H12 (Gornal-Besòs/Verneda) to turn it into a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) electricity through a subsidy of 1.2 million euros granted by the European Union.

Thus, in 2023 it will begin to deploy a series of technological innovations that will allow the increase in line performance and that will make possible the transformation of the current H12 line after receiving an award from the e-BRT 2030 program, TMB reported this Wednesday in a release.

The implementations and technological elements that will be carried out will be based on electrification, the improvement of regularity and the user experience.

Smart charging stations

The complete electrification of the line will be achieved through the installation of charging stations that will offer an intelligent charging system to the line terminals and electric buses.

There will also be an improvement in the regularity of the line with the new connection between the bus and traffic control centers, in addition to the application of adherence strategies to the passing interval of the buses and various developments in terms of intelligent systems of transport (STI).
