The Britta Cloetens case. Forensic dentist defends dental database: “This can save a lot of time and suffering for relatives”

After the discovery of Britta Cloetens, Eddy De Valck (69) of the Disaster Victim Identification team (DVI) pleads for a central database with dental data. According to the forensic dentist, this can save effort, money and, above all, time in the identification of unknown bodies. An interview about the Cloetens case, the tooth as a ‘fingerprint’ and how such research could identify no less than 28 unknown victims in 3 days.
