The British newspapers immediately found a scapegoat: the referee took away the victory

The English papers did not pat the national team players on the head after the defeat to France.

Harry Kane tried to come to terms with his failure. PDO

British newspapers found little to praise about England’s performance in the World Cup quarter-finals. The Three Lions team lost to France 1–2, and its fate was only to find a suitable return flight to the Kingdom.

The main culprit for the defeat was the captain Harry Kanewho shot in the 84th minute into the end stand of Al-Bait stadium.

– Harry Pain (Harry Kipu), titled The Sun – magazine immediately after the defeat.

Kane showed his pain by crying on the pitch after the final whistle.

The Daily Mail magazine was brought up by a Brazilian judge Wilton Sampaio presentation. According to the newspaper, Sampaio missed at least two more goals without whistling (England got two points, of which Kane succeeded in the first).

– Over and out, the paper borrowed an army term.

– It was a nightmare, too Daily Mirror – in the magazine’s mind when it met the mood of defeat.

The ITV channel that broadcast the match to Britain got Jordan Henderson to the interview point.

– This was probably a big missed opportunity. Unfortunately, this was not our night. France is a good team, but I still feel that the victory was possible for us, said Henderson.

– It’s hard to find the right words. It feels like we gave it our all. We wouldn’t be here without Harry Kane, he absolved the captain.
