Maria, an unwitting feminist
The bride it transfers to the screen the story of many women who have experienced the price of being born women on their own skin, in a world made for men. Relegated to the role of service, treated like working beasts. Creatures that should always and necessarily be free.
In this cross-section of a very tough Italy, where the female condition is severely tested, the fate of Maria takes a new direction. She is an unwitting feminist, who overthrows patriarchy with the weapon of kindness and patience.
The series precisely frames the theme gender injustice. Scene after scene, Maria flies higher and higher. The protagonist of a bitter sweet portrait that always reminds us where we come from and who we are.
