Germany has also won its second preliminary round game of the European Handball Championship. The DHB team beat Austria 34:29 in the Slovak capital Bratislava.
The team of national coach Alfred Gislason started the game unbelievably weak and was able to thank goalkeeper Till Klimpke, who was in the box again from the start, that the strong Austrians did not pull further away.
The initial nervousness of the DHB team subsided over time, and the defensive stabilized noticeably. On the offensive, meanwhile, above all, the many European Championship debutants knew how to shine. However, one German player outshined them all.
