The merchants of the Boquería market have participated this Wednesday in a vote to answer the question: “Are you in favor or against opening the agreed hours on Sundays that the law contemplates?”, and 80% of the paradistas have voted against.

With this decision, the Boquería merchants are committed “to continue to be a benchmark market for fresh, seasonal and quality produce for all the citizens of Barcelona, but also to highlight the importance of rest and family conciliation“, sources from the board of merchants have pointed out.
The Barcelona City Council, endorsed by the Generalitat, approved a month ago the opening on Sundays and holidays between May 15 and September 15 of shops located in tourist areasauthorization that the Boquería market will not support.
