Mariela Ivanier she is a hostess almost by nature. She is in her classics Té de Colección de ella, also in the interview cycle “Brindar”, and now again as a compiler of the book “Art is at home”recently published by Planeta, which brings together the testimony of 141 women of different origins and training.
This second book on public relations (the first, “Collection Tea”was presented in 2013 at the MALBA under the umbrella of arteba and it’s already sold out), it’s already available in bookstores, and it’s as varied in its colors, textures, and images, as it is in testimonials and stories.
Journalists, gallery owners, curators, cooks, tea blenders, art collectors, artists, art critics and entrepreneurs are some of the occupations of the women selected for “Art is at home”which transports readers to a space for reflection on the role of women in art and the function of art in our lives.
“The initial idea was to invite female artists from my collection,” explains the author. Mariela Ivanier. “But we were realizing that the idea was bigger, more comprehensive. Because art mobilizes women, inspires us, impacts us and a kind of filigree was put together, a chain of friends and friends of friends and suggestions from those who could expand and enrich the idea ”, she develops.
The idea for the book arose “in the midst of a pandemic.” “I was at home, and in addition to my daughter and my cat, the paintings accompanied me. Knowing that I was surrounded by art helped me get through confinement with a peace that otherwise I would not have achieved”, reviews Ivanier. That was the beginning of an idea, which was first concern and then became a mission.
She began to investigate, to question and to cradle the words that each of the women consulted gave her. This is how she built “Art Is at Home”, where you are 141 women reflect their relationship with art.
The certainty that art is not only beauty but also life, inspiration, salvation, a way of life, a channel of expression and much more, runs through the entire book and leaves in each letter an entry point to sensational worlds. “Being a woman builds me as an artist. As the years go by, it is easier to be a woman and an artist”, she writes. Diana Aisenberg.
“I find a parallelism between plastic artists, musicians and professional cooks. The women’s fight has just begunthe externalization of our problems today only puts us in the shop window”, adds in his words Paula Comparator. “There are many paths in life and art is one of them. And there are infinite ways of being in contact with him: producing work, supporting artists, collecting, promoting…”, supports Claudia Akiany.
and reaffirms it Marina Beláustegui Keller: “Cooking or taking a photo, planting or filming an emotion. Everything combines and interacts artistically in the spirit of my female artist.” “Art is at home” It is a beautiful journey in which these women take the reader by the hand and introduce them to a journey in which they openly share that complex, fascinating, courageous and sensitive interior.
Designed by Guillermo Miguensthe book will have its official presentation on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Auditorium of the National Museum of Fine Artshand in hand with Ivanier, who is carrying out an extensive schedule of presentations, both in Argentina and abroad.
