The best-selling cars in 2023 by power supply: petrol, diesel, LPG, hybrid, electric

The market in general is one thing, the trends that move it are another. It is always interesting to analyze the individual rankings, drawn up by Unrae, the union of foreign manufacturers in Italy, based on registrations. Among these, the one on the fuels preferred by Italian motorists cannot be missing. After seven months, the gas continues to lead the ranking, even if it loses 1.2 points with 28.6% market share (28% between January and July) followed by diesel which drops to 18% (19.2% in the cumulative). Instead, it grows LPG which reaches 9.8% (8.9% in the first 7 months of 2023) while methane continues to decline and represents 0.1%. Cars hybrids they rise again and reach 35.7% in July (35.3% January/July) divided as follows: 7.6% full hybrid and 28.1% for mild hybrid. In the end plugins and electric respectively at 4.4% (4.6% in the year) and 3.4% (3.8% cumulative). In the latter case, there is no need to express enthusiasm, but compared to the first seven months of 2022 there are about 8,000 more units on battery alone.
