How satisfied are travelers with the station they regularly visit? I&O research investigated this in 2021 on behalf of NS and ProRail. Good news: all three train stations in Zoetermeer score very well.

The most appreciated station in the Netherlands in 2021 is Overveen Station. This station gets an 8.2 from travelers. The top 3 is completed by Driebergen-Zeist and Valkenburg, both with an 8.0. Rotterdam South Station is at the bottom of the list with a score of 5.8.
Three stations, three ascending lines
In Zoetermeer we have no fewer than three train stations: Zoetermeer, Zoetermeer East and Lansingerland-Zoetermeer. And the nice thing is: there is an upward trend at all three stations if we look at this research. Traveler ratings were tracked in 2016, 2020 and 2021. And guess what: all three train stations score a little better every year:
Year | |||
Railway station | 2016 | 2020 | 2021 |
Zoetermeer | 5.8 | 6.2 | 6.7 |
Zoetermeer East | 6.3 | 6.9 | 7.2 |
Lansingerland-Zoetermeer | † | 7.3 | 7.4 |
The newest Lansingerland-Zoetermeer train station receives the highest rating.
The research
How are these results established? The researchers of I&O research asked the travelers (almost 77,000 in total) on the platform for their opinion about that specific station. Due to corona there were fewer travelers, so that at some small stations there were not enough people to ask questions. Therefore, no measurements were taken at these stations this time. Such as at Klimmen-Ransdaal station in Limburg, which was rated best in the survey last year.
