So many months of restrictions and citizen events canceled due to the pandemic left an avalanche of activities frozen or in suspense –not dead– in Barcelona, who now finally see the time to hatch. Spring and coexistence with the new phase of the health crisis have led many to coincide this weekend and are the prelude to what could be a near-normal period in regards to popular dating and social life. These days –weather permitting– there will be leisure for all tastes, from fairs and markets, through a recovery movement to which nightclubs and restaurants have joined.
Bring Back Barcelona (BBB)
From this Friday to Sunday, more than fifty nightclubs and restaurants, as well as some hotels, art galleries and shops, promote a movement of reactivation after the crises, the Bring Back Barcelona. “After two years, the business community wants to pay tribute to citizens and their visitors,” say the organizers. They will do so by celebrating the improvement of the situation with different events and promotions. There will be various leisure initiatives “in order to recover the essence of Barcelona”, they promise.
Each establishment will take some action, at your discretion, which can range from hosting a party or exhibition, to a discount or a courtesy glass of cava for customers. Participants include 9 Queens, Apriori, El Gallinero, El Nacional, Boca Grande, Port Vela, El Tirgre, Otto Zutz, Feroz, Bar Lobo, El Japones, Negro, Skylight, Pez Vela, Cuines Santa Caterina, Agua, Bestial, Tierra, Patrón, Botafumeiro, Carpe Diem, Ikibana, Velíssima, Rías de Galicia, Espai Kru, Teatre, Cañota, Pachá Barelona, Opium, Bling Bling, El Boulevard, Sir Victor hotels, Arts, Barceló, W, Hesperia, the store luxury Santa Eulalia or the Museu de Cera, and many more (bbbarcelona.es).
Baúl Weekend: solidarity purchases for Ukraine
On Saturday there will be held in Barcelona a special edition of Baúl Weekend, which before the pandemic triumphed in the days before Christmas, with its proposal to sell fashion donated for charity. On this occasion, the merchandise (which ranges from second-hand luxury brands to new clothes and accessories provided directly by the companies) is sold to affordable prices in order to raise funds to allocate entirely to the NGO Save the Children. It will serve to send humanitarian aid to thousands of children who are still in Ukraine or have taken refuge in neighboring countries such as Romania and Poland, they explain.
The assembly will take place this time in the Hotel Sir Victor (Rosselló 265, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), where the members of his private club, The Sircle, have donated the facilities to support the cause, and even the restaurant services will allocate part of the proceeds to the same action. In the bazaar there will be clothing and accessories for women, men and children. Eva Tomàs, one of the five entrepreneurs who created the call, highlights that this edition has been organized “expressly and outside of its usual calendar” due to the emergency of the war. She appreciates the involvement of many large firms, and highlights the participation of ‘influencers’ such as Vanessa Lorenzo, Miranda Makaroff, Patricia Sañés, Juan Avellaneda and Paula Nata, among others.
In other editions, the Baúl Weekend added a total collection of around 240,000 euros, allocated to entities such as Proactiva Open Arms, Sonrisas de Bombay and Fundació Arrels.

InnBrew, the beer date in La Farga
