The Berliner Salon moves to the Kulturforum with an expanded exhibition concept

On the occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week in September, the Berlin Salon is to be held in the Kulturforum. Another location is Neue Mitte West not far from Potsdamer Strasse. A new concept that also includes the public is also planned.

Since 2015, the Berliner Salon has been a fixture of the Berlin Fashion Week. The group exhibition shows designs by local and national designers and manufacturers. This time the designs of 30 creatives are announced. In addition, an “alumni” installation from the works of 30 designers and manufacturers who have already participated in the Berliner Salon in the past will be shown for the first time. In addition, the Berliner Salon welcomes a guest designer this season: Jean Gritsfeldt from the Ukraine. The designer debuted a collection at MBFW in March.

The salon is curated by Christiane Arp, Chairwoman of the Fashion Council Germany, who brought the initiative to life together with Marcus Kurz, Managing Director of Nowadays. The Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Business supports the Berlin Salon.

“The Berliner Salon is a stage for German designers who act in a contemporary and future-oriented manner. The fact that this stage is now getting bigger actually only shows one thing: how much good design we have in our country,” says Christiane Arp, initiator of the Berliner Salon and Chairwoman of the Fashion Council Germany.

The Berliner Salon is open to invited guests on September 5th and to the public on September 6th and 7th.
