The Berlin police are now driving cargo bikes

Instead of being transported in a radio truck, the materials for the “Traffic Safety Advice” are now being transported on cargo bikes.

On Thursday morning, police chief Dr. Barbara Slowik (56) 70 service bikes and eleven cargo bikes to the traffic safety advisors of the five local police departments.

“The service bikes include a bike lock, a waterproof luggage bag, a first-aid kit and a multifunctional tool so that you can carry out minor repairs yourself on the go,” says a police spokesman. On top of that, there were new uniforms for the police cyclists.

The capital dug deep into its pockets for the new bikes – almost a million was put into the move to a traffic-friendly metropolis.
