The battery of an e-car burns at the charging station – for four hours!

In a parking lot on Charlottenburger Chaussee in Spandau, an electric mini caught fire at a charging station on Thursday evening.

The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the car. But then the battery of the electric car caught fire.

The fire brigade had to tip the car on its side to get to the battery. It was initially not possible to extinguish the battery, it kept igniting despite cooling with extinguishing water.

The fire was only under control after more than four hours!

It was the first time in Berlin that a battery in an electric car caught fire.

The cause of the fire is still unclear.
