The feature length of “The Batman” was recently announced. Director Matt Reeves’ upcoming comic book adaptation will run for two hours and fifty-five minutes. A new German trailer has also been released.
This time, Robert Pattinson will slip into the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman, with Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman at his side. Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Dark Knight was originally scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2021. Due to the pandemic, however, the theatrical release was postponed to March 3, 2022.
Gotham City looks darker than ever
Meanwhile, the sometimes third trailer for the new Batman film has now also been released in German. Gotham City looks darker than ever. This time the bat man has not just one, but two opponents. One is the villain Penguin and the other is the Riddler – a villain who enjoys leaving riddles for Batman at his crime scenes. But Batman doesn’t have to face the evildoers alone. He gets support from his faithful butler and advisor Alfred Pennyworth and the detective James Gordon. Catwoman is also at the hero’s side this time.
The Batman was originally planned as a standalone film. But now the story should serve as a foundation for future projects, as producer Dylan Clark recently revealed. Pattinson is also positive about a sequel: “I made a kind of plan in which Bruce’s character could develop over a movie or two. I would love to do that.”
