T.HE BATMAN
Kind: Drama ✦✦ 1/2
Directed by Matt Reeves. With Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell
Conceived in full Trumpism, shot under the pandemic, distributed after the outbreak of the war, the version of the DC universe comic that makes use of the definite article is really the daughter of its time.
The real protagonists are the many shades of black, at the limit of the perceptible of this chapter of the Gotham City flying vigilante saga. But if you appreciate the gloom and its timing, the more difficult it is to digest the dimension (close to 3 hours) and the repetition.
Bruce Wayne, Pattinson in an “emo” version, gives up on having a life (she goes away framed by the rearview mirror) and perhaps even a fortune (she neglects the meetings).
The corrupt of the city fall like flies and The Riddler delivers riddles. The challenge of the new Reeves-Pattinson ticket is not to look like anything that has already been done before. A little bit.
