Film studio announces
After the successful theatrical release of “The Batman” in early March, fans of the comic hero can look forward to a sequel.
The Warner Bros. studio announced the plans on Tuesday at the CinemaCon film trade fair in Las Vegas. Accordingly, “The Batman” director Matt Reeves, leading actor Robert Pattinson and his co-stars are on board again. Reeves (“Planet of the Apes: Survival”) also wants to write the screenplay, but he did not immediately reveal details about the plot.
In the rather dark comic book adaptation by Reeves, Paul Dano played the Riddler as a psychopathic killer. Colin Farrell starred as Penguin and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. Since its successful debut in March, “The Batman” has grossed around 760 million dollars worldwide.
