“The Batman” has officially been in German cinemas since March 3rd and is one of the most anticipated films of this year. What should not be missing from an unforgettable blockbuster? Exactly – the right soundtrack. After all, a scenery is only convincing with the atmospheric accompanying music.
The soundtrack of the new Batman flick relied primarily on opera, classical and electronic music. In addition to the film music by the composer Michael Giacchino, tracks by Peggy Gou, Nirvana and Gabriel Fauré can be heard. The film, directed by Matt Reeves, makes striking use of artists from the electronic music scene.
Because in addition to Peggy Gou, stars such as Alesso, Patrick Topping, Kevin Saunderson and Baauer also provide tracks for the film’s musical accompaniment. It uses Alesso’s “Dark”, Baauer’s “Hot 44”, Corvad’s “Tesla” and Patrick Toppings and Kevin Saunderson’s collaboration “Frisk”.
Peggy Gou, who is featured in the film with her songs “Troop” and “Darkroom,” wrote on Instagram: “I’m proud to announce that two of my tracks have been featured on the soundtrack for The Batman! Thank you to the team for hosting me.”
EDM DJ and producer Alesso also happily shared the good news on Instagram last week: “As a die-hard BATMAN FAN, I can’t believe I have a song in the new film!”
Robert Pattinson, who plays the lead role as Batman, has obviously also been inspired by the versatility of electronic music. As he said in an interview in February, he also started producing “electronic background music” during the shooting of “The Batman”.
