At first she was the director of a music school, followed by a florist and a car expert. Now the fourth murder of the season involves a tailor. The body of Nunzio Coppola was found inside the historic tailor’s shop of Salita Vetriera. The killer stabbed him with a pair of scissors, one of the symbolic tools of his profession. Coppola was a much loved man in the neighborhood and also very old. Who could have hatched such a plan? What lies behind the brutality of the crime? As always, the Bastards of the Pizzofalcone police station investigate.

In parallel investigations continue on Giuseppe Lojacono (Alessandro Gassmann). In this season, the inspector is left for dead. At the end of the third he was kidnapped by Rocco Squillace (Paolo Sassanelli), a criminal who had sworn revenge years earlier following his brother’s suicide, for which he holds Lojacono responsible. After the kidnapping she freed him, but also threatened him with death if he approached his daughter Marinella (Anna Lucia Pierro) or the PM Laura Piras (Carolina Crescentini).

Furthermore, Squillace faked his death, but as the investigations progress, some elements emerge against Lojacono. Above all, the investigators realize that he is still alive and think he is a criminal. In the meantime he has reunited with Laura Piras, but they meet in secret. Now the prosecutor’s investigations are closing in on Lojacono. And they are all in danger, both the Bastards and the inspector’s daughter, Marinella.

Will there be a fifth season?

The Bastards of Pizzofalcone it is a beloved series that has become a small cult for fans of the genre and the stories covered. It makes you wonder if there will be a fifth season. Alessandro Gassmann on Instagram he wrote: «The fourth season ends next Monday. We started telling the adventures of this police station in 2017. 22 stories, seven years of work. We became friends, almost a family».

Then he continues: «I don’t know if there will be a fifth season, but anyway thanks to everyone. Crew, producers, colleagues and a special thanks to Maurizio De Giovanni, without whom all this would not have existed.” In the end, «thanks to the large audience and to Naples, the true protagonist with all of us».

A thank you that seems like a farewell, but to have confirmation it is necessary to wait for the official response from Rai. In the fourth season the series was enriched with multiple twists and could have said it all. Or not, it could reserve a new functional narrative line to infuse new life into the characters.
