According to ‘Football Insider’, the Barcelona team would be willing to offer 90 million for the midfielder
The club continues to work on the possible replacement of Busquets, who has not yet decided his future
Barça continues to search the market in search of a midfielder before the possible departure of Sergio Busquets. The one from Badia ends his contract in June and has not yet made a decision about his future.
According to ‘Football Insider’ one of the players the Barça club thinks of would be Rodri, Spanish international and Manchester City player. According to this information, Barça would be willing to disburse an amount close to 90 million euros. Rodri would fit what Xavi wants: he is a player used to playing a midfielder in a team like Manchester City, which has a style similar to that of Barça.
The club also has some much more affordable options in its portfolio such as Ilkay Gundogan, which ends contract in June. The German player, also from City, is another footballer who can act as a midfielder and is liked by the coaches. A few days ago the footballer’s agent was at the Barça offices, although Mateu Alemany clarified that the reason for the meeting was Christensen.
“My obligation is to know that Gundogan is free and we have met with his uncle, who is Christensen’s agent. We have talked about Christensen, his performance and how happy we are with the footballer. He has been a very good signing, but there is nothing else”, he commented to ‘Movistar’.
Another footballer that the club also follows is the Real Sociedad midfielder, Zubimendi, who has a clause of 60 million. A more complicated signing due to the amount to be paid and because it is also wanted by Arsenal. The player also shares an agent with Arteta, an added difficulty to achieve his signing, although he is Xavi Hernández’s favourite.
