The organizers of the Illegal parties and attendees who attend these celebrations may be fined with harsh economic sanctions, which can reach 300,000 euros. The Government wants to put an end to this illegal practice and has therefore approved a decree law, which establishes the range of economic sanctions.

Although this new regulation to persecute these illegal celebrations it is designed above all for the island of Ibiza, the Government will apply it in the rest of the archipelago. In fact, the Executive has had the support of the Consell de Ibiza and all the municipalities of the island. Most of these unauthorized parties are organized in homes or on rustic land. Not only do they represent unfair competition for entertainment companies, but they also endanger attendees, because no security system is in place. Many times these parties degenerate into fights and, therefore, affect citizen coexistence due to the inconvenience and noise. In addition, they are also often places of concentration of drugs.

The new decree differentiates very well what can be a family or private celebration that takes place in an apartment or a building, of what a legal party is, where the concept of profit is mixed, since admission is usually charged.

Minister Mercedes Garrido explained this Monday that the security forces will not be able to access these private houses, except with judicial authorization or the owner. However, what will be done is wait for the celebration to end to identify the organizer, the attendees and start the procedures to impose sanctions. The owners of these properties will also be fined for giving them up for the celebration of these events.

The decree law contemplates sanctions from mild to severe. Just for participating in one of these parties, the penalty that will be imposed will be between 300 and 3,000 euros.

Much more forceful will be the fine for organizing, marketing or advertising these events, as well as participating in parties that are organized in natural spaces. The sanction will range from 3,000 to 30,000 euros, and may even reach 300,000 euros. From now on, the municipalities will not have to wait for the start of the sanctioning file to apply precautionary measures.

As Garrido acknowledged this Monday, several administrations, especially in Ibiza, hire private detectives to take care of locating these illegal events.
