Known for her role as ‘Zelis’ in the fantasy, drama and comedy series ‘Squirt Witch’, which was broadcast in 1999-2000, Merve Erdoğan announced that she was pregnant last March. The 30-year-old actress, who is married to musician Mert Carim, learned the gender of her baby.
Merve Erdoğan, who graduated from Kadir Has University Theater Department, made a name for herself with her roles in the TV series ‘Short Witch’, ‘Back Row’ and ‘Yalaza’, and recently starred in the TV series ‘Repentance’ (2020-2021), is preparing to become a mother.
“I STOPPED ALL SERIES INTERVIEWS”
The actress, who gave an interview to Eda Solmaz from Hürriyet, announced that they were expecting a baby and that she was 3.5 months pregnant with the following words:
“I am one of the actors affiliated with the Istanbul State Theatre. Since the news of pregnancy came, I stopped all series talks. My wife is also very supportive of me in this regard. We are anxiously awaiting our baby.”

Merve Erdoğan, who shared the ultrasound image of their baby with her husband Mert Carim, whom she married in 2020, from her social media account, asked for help from her followers.
The 30-year-old beauty, who is five months pregnant, said, “This was the first holiday that our nuclear family celebrated with three people. It was very good for us, I hope it was the same for you. Now I will ask you for a little help. The gender of our baby has been determined. We will have a daughter with the permission of Allah. I will ask you to write the baby girl names that come to your mind and that we love, and help us in this choice. Let’s choose the name of our little one together,” he wrote.
“THE FASTEST JOB INTERVIEW IN MY LIFE”
Merve Erdoğan explained how she got involved in the TV series ‘Short Witch’, which made her known in the show world, with these words:
“I was nine years old. They couldn’t find a child actor for ‘Squirt Witch’ as they wanted. Sezer Güvenirgil was also the producer of the series. They wanted a girl like her to take a role. At that time, we gave interviews to a newspaper as three child actors. Sezer Hanım’s daughter was in the newspaper. He sees me. He shows me to his mother and they say, ‘We found what we were looking for.’ But at that time we do not have a home phone. They are calling my grandmother. Days later, by chance, my grandmother tells us. When we called back, they called me for an interview. And when we did, we agreed immediately. It was the fastest job interview in my life. I did a lot of work on ‘Squirt Witch’, but she was remembered.”
