Several well-known Finnish artists demand Yle to boycott Eurovision if Israel participates in the competition.
Finnish artists such as Paleface, Vesta and Lxandra have shared the petition on social media.
The petition has now also been noticed in the international media.
The matter has been reported by, among other things British broadcasting company BBC, The Guardian, Deadline and Expressen.
The petition also hopes that Yle will put pressure on the European broadcasting company Ebu to exclude Israel from visas.
Icelandic artists have also called for a visa boycott if Israel is involved.
Artist of the new music competition Jesse Mark’s announced on Thursday that he would skip Eurovision if Israel is participating and he wins UMK.
– I am not going to participate in Eurovision if Israel participates. This in no way means that I wouldn’t want to participate in Eurovision or that I wouldn’t put one hundred percent into UMK, Markin said.
Eurovision will be held in May in Malmö.
