Social and economic agents have defended social and economic agreement in the metropolis of Barcelona, at the same time that they have opted for the model promoted by the Metropolitan Area (AMB) through the Reactivation and Reindustrialization Table.
The AMB has explained this Monday in a statement, about the day “The challenges for a new social contract” held in the Marie Curie Training Center of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, that unions, employers and administrations have agreed to defend the importance of dialogue and collaboration to find solutions to problems arising from globalization, digitization, climate change or the health crisis.
They have also emphasized the need attract talentthe overcoming of digital dividethe promotion of double formation and progress towards gender equality to allow the progress of welfare state societies.
Wide participation
The conference was attended by the Vice President of the Area of Social and Economic Development of the AMB, Montserrat Ballarin; the Deputy Mayor for Economy, Internal Services, Labor, Universities, Innovation and Transparency of the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council, Blanca Padros; and the President of the Economic and Social Council of Spain, Anton Costasamong others.
As for the social agents, the general secretary of CC.OO. Catalonia, javier pacheco; that of the UGT, Camil Ros; the vice president of Foment and president of FEDEQUIM, Joan Roget; and the president of PIMEC, Antoni Canete; among others.
Proposals for consultation
Some of the main proposals of this diagnosis are more measures of business innovation and R+D+i to face strategic challenges such as the fourth industrial revolution, accelerating the technological transition of the metropolitan industry, promote inter-administrative collaboration, decentralize the tourism model towards the Barcelona metropolis in a sustainable way, modernize the industrial estates and enhance energy efficiency.
The instrument available to the AMB to achieve the social consensus of unions, employers and local, regional governments and the State itself is the Reactivation and Reindustrialization Tablea process of joint reflection that emerged in 2017.
