The almost simultaneous failure of 3 trains causes delays in the FGC

A breakdown in 3 different trains in half an hour has caused delays on the Vallès de Ferrocarrils line of the Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) first thing this Thursday morning, between approximately eight and eight fifteen, according to company sources informed by the ACN agency.

The first two incidents occurred in two convoys at the Sant Cugat del Vallès and Sarrià stations. Both trains have been towed away and both tracks have become operational again. A few minutes later, around half past eight, a third train also broke down in Sarrià and a quarter of an hour later the service was restored.

The frequencies of passage have been altered and during the morning they have been progressively recovering the usual schedule. Shortly before 11 a.m. the service had already returned to normal.

The day before it happened to Renfe

It so happens that the incident at FGC this Thursday is very similar to the one suffered the day before in the Paseo de Gracia railway tunnel. A train without passengers was stranded and this vital corridor for Rodalies, Regionales and other trains operated by Renfe was left at half throttle with only one track in operation. After about an hour the operator was able to restore normal service.
